  Dashing and skilful half-back flanker who played many outstanding games. In his early years he stood out by his large mop of black curly hair.

Often went forward and kicked goals from the half-back-flank.

Ross was the litmus test for the side, for when he played well, we won.
   
  Players that followed him from Strathmore into the Bulldogs camp were Scott West, Adam Contessa and David Round.
   
  His Dad was a member of the 1954 premiership side and his grandfather a member of the 1923 Victorian Championship side.
