Had superb skills on the left or right side of his body. Never knew if he was going to kick left or right foot. Cameron was a champ. I remember his first game against the swans where he kept receiving from Kennedy at Full-back and just continually drove us forward.

Was often the nominated kicker to kick out after a point had been scored. Could kick the ball a long way. He disposal accuracy percentage was almost 100% and was far better that any other player in the competition. His passes almost always found their man, whether he was under pressure or not..

Often, if a team mate was outside 50 and was dubious about making the distance there was a set play where-by Cameron would run past and receive a quick  handball and boot it through the goals. I loved watching Leon Cameron, the way he would create play from across the half back line and set up a forward move.

A great shame he moved across to THEM, but look what we picked up in exchange. A very welcome return to the Dogs this year.

The Ugg Boot! What a star, my favourite all-time player at the Doggies. Silky Skills.  I still don't know what his preferred kicking foot was, he was so good on both sides.

The other great thing about him was his versatility, you could play him virtually anywhere on the field - half back, midfield, back pocket, and he'd be very effective in all those positions. Still remember all his goals on the left from outside 50 for many years at the club.

I loved watching him play and still feel aggrieved that he finished his career at Richmond.  In the 1999 National draft traded to Richmond for draft choice 37 and 66 for which we picked up Mitchell Hahn and Ryan Hargrave. Although we got good players in exchange for Cameron many fans thought that he should have been an untouchable, not to be traded under any circumstances.
Came back in 2004 to join the coaching staff at the Mighty Bulldogs. Good to see him back at the Club, where he belongs!
