Usual position was centre half back but occasionally given the job at centre half forward or full forward. Played with great spirit. A thumping left foot. Got his jaw broken in 1985 and missed a lot of matches.

His talent recognised early. High marking and long kicking  with a fair amount of pace to match. Seemed to get better every year. A key position player and key player for the side. good club man. A favourite of the fans. Beat all of the great centre-half forwards in his day. Sometimes played at centre half forward. Played one state game at centre half forward.
