John "Bottles"
Greenwood. Stringy half back flanker with a good leap and some general
ability. I recall one game against Hawthorn when he was moved onto John Peck
after half time. John Peck was Hawthorn's champion full-forward and League
leading goal-kicker. Peck had 4 goals on regular full-back Ken Duff at half
time but kicked only one more for the match. Bottles played him from behind
and climbed all over his back when the ball came in high. |

Peck must have had an aching back for a week after
that. |
