Versatile and talented tall used in a number of
positions. played a whole season on the wing. Used extensively as a half
back flanker and finally as centre half back. Usually wore long sleeves. |

I remember that he was the hero of one game at
centre half back against Collingwood when it was pouring with rain.
Water on the ground must of covered the player's ankles. They just could not pass him, he stopped everything that day, he was just
always in the road. It was a good and unexpected win. |

He became a great club man and when retired became
the Football manager at the club. His son was not drafted under the father
and son rule and he went to play many games for Carlton. |
