Nicknamed "Gomez". A very hard player to match up on when
playing in the forward zone because of his spectacular high marking ability
and canny pace around the ground. |

Has thrilled us with his spectacular high leaps, the one
over Rohan Wharf in Sydney was a beauty. Showed his love for the Bulldogs
one game by kissing his Bulldog logo after kicking a a goal against
Essendon. |

Played on the wing, half forward and sometimes in the
forward pocket. Later in his career he played as a half-back-flanker. |

Although he took a heap of memorable marks; Hawthorn (on
the wing at Waverley); Essendon (backwards and over the top in a night
game); West coast (Final 98 with both knees in the back), and several crazy
attempts. In the 1997 final against Sydney, he almost killed himself and
Grant in the process.
His best was the one against Sydney. He had hang-time the like you haven't
seen in AFL (Anyone seen Clyde 'The Glide' Drexler in NBA, that's the air
and hang-time levels he achieved against Sydney)
He was a real lucky charm in our early games in 1997. All the regular season
games he played in were wins until midway through the year.

Started to lose form in 1999 but after he was
traded to Port Adelaide and kept on the half-back line he played
spectacularly once again. |

In the 1999 National Draft traded him to Port
Adelaide for Nathan Eagleton and draft pick 28 for which they received Brent
Guerra. Powell was also involved in the trade and we got the pick that
nabbed us Wiggins. |
