Footscray

Western Bulldogs Footscray beat Collingwood for his services, securing Purser and a big wad of cash for rover Gary Shaw (who ended up playing 32 games).

He was nicknamed 'Polly' by Tony Buhagiar as Tony thought that Andrew may be as good as Graeme Farmer.

Andrew was great in all forms of ruckwork, as a tap ruckman, in the centre, at the boundary and around the ground. He was a good mark and fine kick.
