Footscray

He started with fellow West Australian Andrew Purser.

Jim Sewell with his son Mitchell at East Fremantle. What's the chance of Mitchell playing for the Bulldogs!

Western Bulldogs He started off at full back but his exceptional marking and agility skills were recognised and he was occasionally placed at Centre-Half-Forward. Then back to defence to strengthen the side where he spent most of his career..

He could boot the ball accurately a long way.

He was nick-named 'Squirrel', because Doug Hawkins couldn't say Sewell and it came out like Sirrell, so might as well make it Squirrel.
