Have a look at that gentle baby-face there, wouldn't hurt a soul, except maybe choke you to death. Daniel was very much a part of the Bulldogs' tough image of the 90's. He would eat you alive. He had a tough body and a tough looking hairstyle that was short in the front and sometimes in a plat at the back. He signed up for the draft in the previous year when he was under-aged, keen as mustard they said.

Footscray

Western Bulldogs Remember the day at Subiaco Oval when the fight of all fights broke out. Danny choked West Coast's Peter Sumich so that he passed out.  Got into trouble with the tribunal over that.

He could play football too. His last few years were less aggressive, which was a pity.

He had a pet snake and took trips to the darkest jungles of Africa during the football off-season. Probably frightened the Bantus over there.
Daniel retired in round 7 2000 at age 25 from injuries. He said his knees were constantly painful and as he wanted to do "many other" things in his life, it was time to quit footy. He went to sue the club for $67,000 in compensation.
Click to return to Home page Daniel was the first to seek coach Terry Wallace's resignation part the way through the 2002 season (Wallace retired towards the end of the season).
Became a special comments man on ABC and Channel 7, later became a zoo keeper at the Melbourne Zoo.
