He was traded for an early pick to hawthorn so that hawthorn would not trade him to another club. This enabled the Bulldogs to pick up jade Rawlings in the pre-season draft. It was though by some to be a little shonky but it passed the AFL scrutiny. Veale, although being the meat in the sandwich still had some good form and was worth trading.

All Bulldogs fans are hoping to see a champion unfold in this man.

Veale will need to develop into a key position player or grow some more inches to be a tall ruckman type, will take some time to develop but great things are expected.
